Note reading practice
There are two pages here, intended for sight-reading practice. I have no idea yet as to how effective they are, or if they help at all, having only just written them out of curiosity.
- chords.html presents sheet music, courtesy of abcjs, of two-note chords picked at random from the key of C major, in the octave from middle C up to the C above it. Pressing z and x switches between the octave going up from middle C to the octave going down from middle C. The h key switches to C harmonic minor going up an octave from middle C. The / key switches between writing black key notes as sharps or flats.
- quavers.html is as above except that notes are paired in quavers. Everything else is identical.
- this js file does most of the non-rendering work. Look at the source of chords.html or quavers.html to see how it is used.
- abc.js does the heavy lifting when it comes to rendering. Google around to find its homepage.
